What is a roof warranty?
A roof warranty is a service contract which protects homeowners against the cost of unexpected repairs, including replacement of roof system and components, that leak due to rain.
I have homeowners insurance and a home warranty plan. Why do I need a roof warranty?
Companies that offer these policies do not include roof's in their warranties.
I have a new roof. Why do I need a roof warranty?
Roof manufacturing companies only provide coverage on defective materials. Leaks are not covered.
Does it matter how old my roof is?
No. The age of a roof does not matter. GSI will still cover the roof system and components regardless of age.
Do I need a home inspection?
No. A home inspection is recommended, but not required.
Can anyone purchase a roof warranty?
Yes. Existing homeowners, sellers, buyers, real estate brokers.
Do I pay a service fee?
Yes. A $65.00 service fee per occurrence will be paid to the GSI service technician when they arrive at your residence.
Who does the repair?
A certified GSI roof technician.
When will I receive a copy of my contract?
Once an order is received and conformation is provided by GSI, the contact should be sent to the homeowner within10 days of payment.

Why does the seller need a roof warranty?
A GSI warranty plan gives their home the competitive edge. Roof protection without roof replacement. A GSI roof warranty protects against costly repairs to the seller while the home is listed for sale. Premium not paid until closing.
Is a roof inspection required?
No. Although most home inspectors will recommend that the roof be inspected. You can eliminate your buyers concerns with a GSI roof warranty.
When does the coverage begin?
The sellers coverage starts after receipt of application and/or issuance of confirmation number by GSI and continues until expiration of the initial listing period not to exceed 180 days or until close of sale or listing cancellation (whichever is first). The buyers coverage starts upon payment at the close of escrow and must be received by company within 20 working days.
Does GSI roof warranty cover known pre-existing conditions?
GSI roof warranty covers unknown pre-existing conditions. Known defects found at the home inspection are excluded from coverage until proof of correction is made by a licensed contractor.
When will the demand for payment be sent to escrow?
Demand for payment will be sent to escrow normally within 24 hours, unless otherwise specified.
